The satirical PROSH newspaper will be sold to the Perth public on April 11th 2001 with the aim to raise $100,000 to mark the Centenary of Ferelation.
PROSH is proud to announce that the following five charities are to be the nominated beneficiaries for the 2001 collection:
The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of Australia-- donation to fund the majority of with diabetes about self-injections and managing their own diabetes on a daily basis.
CanTeen-- donation to fund the "Good Grief" Weekend, a program that enables 20 adolescents to explore issues surrounding dying, grieving, and bereavement, as well as stress and coping.
The Dyslexia Speld Foundation-- donation to partially fund the "Learning to Succeed--Coping with Dyslexia" program. The program is designed to enable children and adults with specific learning disabilities to realise their greatest potential.
The WA Deaf Society Inc.-- donation to fund "Deaf World", a video which illustrates the lives of deaf and hard of hearing people in the areas of Auslan (Australian Sign Language) Deaf culture and technologies used by the deaf. The video will accompanied by a teacher's workbook.
Cystic Fibrosis WA-- donation to buy exercise equipment for sufferers of cystic fibrosis. The equipment will be used by 30 clients per year and has been shown to alleviate the symptoms of their debilitating condition.
